Jubo League Activist Arrested for Shooting During Anti-Discrimination Movement in Chattogram
Police have arrested Touhidul Islam Prakash, a 32-year-old activist of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, in connection with the killing of students and protesters during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Chattogram.
Touhidul was apprehended on Friday in the Kamalnagar area of Satkhira Sadar upazila and later brought to Chattogram.
According to police, Touhidul is named in 12 cases, including five for murder, filed with Chandgaon Police Station.
Aftab Uddin, the officer-in-charge of Chandgaon Police Station, stated that during preliminary interrogation, Touhidul confessed to his involvement in shooting demonstrators during the movement.
The OC further revealed that on August 4, Touhidul fired 28 rounds at protesters, as admitted by the accused during questioning.
